EMB Region 02 headed by Regional Director Nelson P. Honrado conducts Webinar on Environmental Laws for SK and Youth Leaders entitled: “Empowering Youth: Lead Change, A Commitment to Sustainable Future and launching of 2022 Search for “Youth Envi Icon: A Recognition of Youth Environmental Champions” on April 6, 2022. The event was graced by Ms. Rose Chell Anne C. Rojas – Cluster Head of the National Youth Commission Region II and III as Key Note Speaker who provided insights on the significant roles of the youth in participating to environment-related activities.
The webinar introduced the basics of environmental laws, its mandates and programs and highlights the need to strategize commitments and action from the youth on environmental problems such as air pollution, water pollution, solid waste management, toxic and chemical waste management and climate change through environmental education to address the impacts of environmental and health concerns. On the other hand, the Youth Environmental Icon Program aims to recognize youth with outstanding contribution in environmental management and protection; highlight youth efforts, green initiatives and contribution in environmental conservation; and encourage and inspire more youth to be leaders and partners in environmental protection and management.
